About Us
Situated just outside the town of Market Rasen, The Lincolnshire Trust for Cats offers a rescue facility for cats that through circumstances have become homeless or abandoned.
The Trust was founded in January 1999 by Jain Kidd who is now the Trust's administrator.
The Trust operates from premises set in over seven acres. The main buildings incorporate a south facing cattery for adult cats awaiting homes, a separate cattery for the younger cats, maternity unit, operating room, office, reception and display area, kitchen and storerooms. The building also offers wheelchair access throughout.
The Trust employs a voluntary administrator and pays one full time and four part time cattery assistants, a cleaner a book keeper and a veterinary surgeon. We also take on Work Experience Students from local schools and colleges on a regular basis.
Our regular income comes from our Charity Shop in Market Rasen, from the donations and standing orders from Friends of the Trust and from Sponsorships of our Resident Cats. Other fundraising events are held through the year.
All incoming cats and kittens are blood tested for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV or feline aids) and Feline Leukaemia (FeLV) on admission and then live in communal groups whilst completing their vaccinations for Cat Flu, Enteritis and Leukaemia. All cats of six months and over are neutered and given a general health check.
All our cats receive a six weeks free health insurance courtesy of PetPlan and a supply of Royal Canin food when leaving for their new home.
